Coach Bennett's full recap of the Friday loss at Glen Lake is below:
"The Onekama Portagers fell to the Glen Lake Lakers in a conference game on Friday evening with a final score of 77-51. The Lakers jumped ahead early in the first half, taking a 43-27 lead into halftime. We struggled and were outscored in the third quarter by 14 points, extending the Lakers lead. They capitalized on the Portagers not taking care of the ball while being pressed. We need to be more disciplined with our passes and with running our press break. The game continued to get away from us. At times, we made some runs, but Glen Lake responded with runs of their own to keep their lead. I am proud of our young team for playing hard the entire game. They showed a lot of heart, despite the score, and played hard until the last buzzer. Our leading scorer was Callie Sinke with 17 points. She also had eight rebounds. Other contributions came from Delaney McCarthy with seven points and 10 rebounds, and Heather Zielinski with nine points. We next see action on Wednesday, January 31st, where we go to Frankfort to play the Panthers for another conference matchup. "
