As the regular football season winds down, we are spotlighting sophomore football player, Ethan Gauthier, to learn about his passion for football and his academic career.
How is your high school career going so far?
It's going pretty well, keeping up with grades, and doing well in football.
Who is a teacher that you have always looked up to? Why do you look up to them?
I definitely look up to Mr. Delke, because he is the nicest teacher and he's always happy. He gives me great advice and is just a great person overall.
Are there any classes you take that are difficult?
The most difficult class I take is probably just world history, because I feel like I do not understand the world.
Do you have a favorite subject in high school? If so, what is it?
My favorite subject is definitely woodworking. I like working hands-on with things.
What is your most favorite thing about playing football?
I really enjoy hitting people and being able to come together as a team during practices and games.
Do you miss playing football with your brother, Chase?
I do miss playing football with Chase. It was probably my favorite time of, like, my life, honestly.
Besides playing football, what other sports do you participate in?
I do basketball in winter and as of now I plan on doing track in the spring.
Who inspired you to start playing football?
It’s actually Odell Beckham Jr.
How would you describe your teammates and what does being a good teammate mean to you?
A good teammate is not bringing people down and having good leadership with everybody. My teammates are pretty much like that, especially Ryan.
Is there a college football team or NFL team that you would love to play for?
Well, for college I would love to play for Michigan State. I mean that was always my dream.
We appreciate your participation in this interview, Ethan. We hope the rest of your football season goes well!
