Onekama Fire Department Field Trip

Fire departments are local institutions. There are about 31,000 local fire departments in the United States and over one million firefighters, of whom about 750,000 are volunteers. Over half of firefighters protect small, rural communities of fewer than 5,000 residents, and these locales rely on volunteer departments with scarce resources. Mrs. Bradford's first grade students visited the Onekama Fire Department.
