Leaps & Bounds Receives Grant

Preschool children Finley Brown and Silas Chisholm, from Leaps & Bounds Early Childhood Education Program, demonstrate their cooking skills on the center’s new dramatic play kitchen furniture.

WHAT’S COOKING?

Leaps & Bounds Receives Grant

Things are “heating up” at the Leaps & Bounds Early Childhood Education Program, thanks to some new equipment designed to inspire young imaginations, including new dramatic play kitchen furniture. The purchase of the furniture was made possible in part by a grant from the Launch Manistee Fund of the Manistee County Community Foundation with support from the Oleson Foundation.

“Imaginative play is a crucial element of early childhood development,” commented program director Amy Brown. “We are grateful to the Community Foundation and the Oleson Foundation for supporting our efforts to provide diverse opportunities to the children who are entrusted to our care.”

Leaps & Bounds is a quality early childhood education program that offers care to infants, toddlers, preschool and school-age children. The program is open year-round and is located within Onekama Consolidated School.  For more information, contact Amy Brown at 231-889-4750.
