Counselor's Corner: College and Career

Congratulations Parents! You have a Senior in the house. Congratulations students! You made it to your Senior year of high school.

Whether you are college bound or preparing to enter the workforce I am here to offer you and your family a helping hand. The decision making process along with the many responsibilities and actions it takes to prepare for life after high school can at times be overwhelming. In an effort to make the transition a little easier you will be provided with information that is designed to help you, as an individual and as a family, make well-informed decisions regarding your future.

Information will be provided to you on our school website under the heading ‘college and career’, via emails, alert now messages and through snail mail newsletters. Newsletters, at times, will contain questionnaires and suggested activities that are intended to help bring you and your family together for important discussions and keep us (myself, student, and parents) on the same page. You will be provided with information regarding upcoming scholarships, scholarship deadlines, letter of recommendation deadlines, and any other deadlines, events, etc. we come upon.

Your participation and intentional efforts are strongly encouraged and are necessary in order for this helping hand to be effective. I will be available to work individually with students on Tuesday’s from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. in room 423. Students, I ask that you please schedule a time to meet with me to discuss your future plans, set some goals, and stay on top of the tasks that need to be completed to keep you on track. A sign up sheet will be in the Media Center right outside my door. Students AND parents you are welcome to email me anytime but note I am only available to reply on Tuesdays.  Email: Or call 889-5521.

Please trust that every effort will be made on my part to ensure you are well equipped to make the decisions you need to make in order to be successful, no matter what path you choose to take. I look forward to meeting with you, listening to you, and working with you!
