21 Long Days

By Andrew

Brayden is a kindergartener in Mr. Ks class. Mr. Ks class hatched chicks this year. Brayden said that the man that brought the eggs had a weird hat. He said he did not know the man’s name. He said when the man came in he thought that he was making breakfast. He said that the eggs were white and brown. He also said that they wrote Os and Xs on the eggs. They put the Xs and Os to see what side you had to turn them. He said that you turn them two times daily. An incubator is a thing that heats the eggs up.

The baby chick ate the yolk to live. It takes 21 days to hatch. He felt happy. There were coins for them to see. They eat chicken food. The thing that Brayden liked the most about the chicks was feeding them.

She also said the eggs were white and brown. The first thing that you had to do with the eggs was putting X’s and O’s on them.then you had to turn the eggs twice a day. She said the incubator helps keep the eggs warm and help them hatch. So the baby chicks can grow they had to eat the yolk inside of the egg.

Crack! Crack! Peep! Peep! Loretta said that it takes lots of days for the chick to hatch. She said she felt really happy when the chicks hatched. They put coins in the water for they know where their food and water is. She said they eat chickie food. Loretta likes having the chicks in her classroom to check on them every day. I hope kindergarteners get to do this in the future like they get to this year.

Its the Eggiest Class in OCS

By Kaden B.

Mitchell is a kindergartener in Mr. K’s class this year. The kindergarteners hatch chicks in their classroom. They said Matthew Gardner’s dad brought them in. He said the eggs made him happy. They said the eggs look tanish with dots. Mitchell said they ate white stuff. He also said the first thing we had to do was put Xs and Os on the eggs. They put Xs and Os on each of the eggs side to know which side to turn over to the other side when the eggs got hot. The class said a thing you had to do every day was you had to turn it over to the other side. They did that twice a day. Mitchell said the incubator makes the eggs hatch and it looks like white sphere.

He said it takes 21 or 19 days to hatch. Mitchell said it was exciting when the chicks hatched. There were coins in the water and food because it helps the chicks see better. He said they ate chick food. Mitchell liked it because he got to hold them.
