4th Grade Science: Prisms

My class and I made a rainbow using white light. We made a rainbow with flashlights prisms and white paper. My partner and I made a rainbow by moving the prism around. Some groups had a hard time, some other groups thought it was easy. We filled in a paper about white light. White light is made of many different colors like red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. ~Cora

Today my group and I did an experiment. We used a prism and paper and shined a flashlight on the prism and it made a rainbow on the paper. ~Hunter

My class did a prism activity. My teacher put everyone in groups and my partners were Autumn and Max. And Mrs. Brown handed out some flashlights and some batteries and paper and a prism. We flashed the flashlights on the prism and it made a rainbow. ~Rebecca

We did a activity about prisms. You shine a light into a prism. You can see a rainbow. You can see 7 different colors. ~Heather

We found out that if you put a flashlight. We had to do white light with the prisms and the flashlight. It should a rainbow you could make the rainbow into different shapes. If you went back it would be big if you went far it was little. It was fun doing the activity. ~Salvador

My class did an experiment we use prisms, flash lights,  and regular paper. The color that appeared was white. If you put the prism on the flashlight the light would be a rainbow. The order was purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red. The colors went right through the prism. In my group was Haley, Waaba, Jacob, and I. It was really fun!    ~Veronica

We took a flashlight and shined it on paper it was white on paper. But when you shine it on the prism it turned purple, blue, green, yellow, orange and red. It looked just like a rainbow.  ~Caden

Our class did an experiment today. We were using a flashlight with a prism. We were making rainbows out of a prism. It was really fun. ~Thomas

We are working on white light. There are seven colors in the white light. They are violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red. If you put a prism on a flashlight turn it on. Put the prism upside down like a triangle and see if you can see or find a rainbow. ~Nolan

Today we did a prism experiment was about White light. We use a prism and a flashlight to make a rainbow.  ~Jacob

We did a rainbow activity with prisms we had a piece of paper and color pencil when we shined the flashlight on the paper I saw a rainbow. the colors are pretty cool I can't believe what light can do. ~Janet

A prism is a light that changes colors made by white light, or also red, purple, blue, green, yellow, and orange light because light is a sort of energy that travels threw the air.  ~By Autumn

I did an experiment with prisms and we made rainbows with flashlights and prisms. The rainbows had red, orange, yellow, green, blue, Indigo, and purple.  ~Kaleb

Today we did a prism activity it was about white light. We use a prism and use white paper. It showed Rainbow. It was fun!  ~Ethan

Prisms

Today (Oct.17,2016) we used prisms to experiment. We saw that there was a good rainbow when we shined a flashlight through the prism. It was really really cool! The high schoolers let us use the prism. We saw red, orange, white, and blue. I had a great time doing this experiment.  ~Alex

We made rainbows by shining prisms with flashlights onto a white piece of paper. Hunter and I made a sword fish by putting it in a certain angle. At the end Hunter and I looked in the prism and saw a rainbow at the bottom of the prism. It was a blast!  ~Jarred

This Monday we did a activity with a prism, a flashlight and white paper. To see what colors are made with white. There were six colors. The first color was purple. Next was blue. Then was green. The next color was yellow. Then orange . The last color was red. Now we all know what colors make white in the prism. Also the colors of the rainbow. I liked the experiment that we did today. ~Waaba

Me and my class did a science activity today. We used a prism a white light and a white piece of  paper. First we flashed the flashlight on the blank piece of paper it was clear. We took the flashlight and the prism . We put the prism in front of the flashlight. And it made a rainbow.  ~Esther

Today we used prisms to make white light but the white light was not white it was rainbow! In the prism box there was a piece of paper that had patterns on it we set the prism on the paper and spined the paper and it looked really cool. We used a flashlight and a prism when we flashed it on the paper it showed yellow, blue, purple and orange it was so fun and cool and I'm going to try it at home some time. ~Jayla
