Experimenting with a Pinwheel

I did an experiment with a pinwheel. We did seven different categories. There was walking, blowing soft, blowing hard, running, fan, heater, and wind. We went outside to do the wind and the running. The fan, heater, and running gave over 30 rotations. The rest gave less than 20 rotations. I had lots of fun. ~Kaleb

     My class did an experiment. With our pinwheel we walked, blowed soft, blowed hard, ran, put it in front of the fan and heater, and we stood in the wind. I believe that the stronger the energy the faster the pinwheel moved. I observed was the stronger the wind the faster the pinwheel went. I believe that means the more the wind and energy the faster the pinwheel. ~Veronica

  We made pinwheels out of paper. The fan  made the pin wheel go faster. When we walked it made the least rotations. Blowing soft made about the same amount of rotations. Running made about the same amount of rotations as the fan.  We learned that the wind is energy  and the more energy the faster the faster the pin wheel went. ~Cade


In my activity we made a pinwheel.  We had to run and do hard blow and soft blow to make it move and walking.  We used a fan and heater.  And we walked and we used the wind.  We learned that we need to have a lot of energy to make the pinwheel move.  ~Jacob



We did an Activity about a pinwheel we had seven experiment walking, blowing soft, blowing hard, running, fan, heater  ,and wind. The pinwheel went faster with more energy and slower with less energy. The wind gets caught in the pocket of the pinwheel making it go fast. ~Janet



My class and I did a pinwheel project on wind and energy. Jayla and I did our experiment together. The things we tested was walking, blow soft, blow hard, running, the fan,heater and the wind. I believe that the stronger the energy the faster the pinwheel spins. What I observed was the stronger the wind the faster the pinwheel will spin.  For the past few days we have been doing an experiment where our whole class used pinwheels.  Each group had their own pinwheel.  All the groups had 7 experiments.  We did the same ones and they were walking, blowing soft, blowing hard, running, fan, heater and wind.  And I learned that the stronger the energy the faster the pinwheel would spin.  ~Hunter

      This week we were doing a experiment on wind and energy by making pinwheels. We used an online stopwatch to time ourselves for 15 seconds. We tried walking, running ,blowing hard ,blowing soft ,heater ,fan and then we used the wind. It was my favorite experiment we’ve done so far. It was very very fun. ~Jayla

I claimed that the stronger the energy the faster the pinwheel. My evidence was I observed the stronger the wind the faster the pinwheel. My reasoning was this means the more energy the faster it goes. ~Jarred

  My class did a pinwheel activity. My partner was Tucker. My Teacher handed out supplies for the activity she gave us a piece of paper and a pencil and a tack. So I folded the paper and stuck the tack throw the paper and threw the eraser. We a walk with it we blew soft we blew hard we ran with it we used the fan and the heater and the wind. The pinwheel didn't really spin that much when we walked with it and the pinwheel spinned really fast when we used the heater. I had a lot of fun. ~Rebecca


We did a activity with a pinwheel it was about energy ! The stuff we need to do was waking, blow soft, blow hard, running, fan, heater and wind. The softest was waking. The hardest was running. The activity was fun .  ~Ethan 


The more gust of wind there is the pinwheel moves faster. We made the pinwheel with a pencil, paper, and a pin. The activity was amazing we did a lot. I learn that the blow hard gets the Most spins on the pinwheel. I had my best friend with me. I hope I can do that activity again. ~Nolan

Then we found out that the more wind the more energy and the more energy the mare faster the pinwheel goes. If the wind is hard the pinwheel will fly of the stick and the softer the wind is the slower it goes.  ~Salvador
