Spring Band Concert

The band concert was very fun and challenging. ~Ethan

At the band concert it was really fun. I was kinda disappointed only 13 people showed up but it all worked out fine. In the concert we played Baa Baa Black Sheep, Frère Jaques, This Old Man, Symphony Number One, Mexican Hat Dance, and Academic Festival Overture. I really think that our class did a good job. ~Teigan

The 5th graders of Onekama school were very excited for their second band concert of the year playing their new instruments. Even though we were short a few people, we knew that we would do great.
I was the first percussion player in the class. About halfway into the year, Ellery McIsaac joined me. We didn't have big solos like the trumpets or brass, but we were a very big part of the group.
We played 5 songs. Those songs were Frère Jacques, Baa Baa Black Sheep, This Old Man, Symphony Number One, and Academic Music Festival. But, halfway through the performance of the concert, Ellie's snare drum stopped! The snare was broken. Ellie pulled through, and it was fixed in no time.
The band concert was fun. I am definitely doing band next year! ~Mairin M

May 17, 2015 was the band concert. Only 13 people showed up but we were pretty good with only 13 people. The songs that we played were Mexican Hat Dance, Baa Baa Black Sheep, This Old Man and more. I even stayed to watch all the ones after me. It was really fun. –Sophie

Sunday, May 17 at 2:00  fourth grade to high school had a band concert. The forth grade played first, and then us, the fifth graders played. After us the middle schoolers played, and the high schoolers played last. For only having 12-13 people show up out of 27 we sounded astonishing. It was a lot of fun! ~Maegan

Last weekend on Sunday was the band concert. There was only 13 out of 27 of my class there. We were short handed I guess. There were no people there that played the saxophone and there was no flute. We played 5 songs. It was very scary and frightening to be in front of the crowd. There was basically no one in the stands. After we preformed the middle school band played, then the high school played. At the end of the day I was glad it was over. ~Breanna S.
