I used the same physicals size for these photos 2.7 wide, 3.5 high. Both used about 53Kb. The original right off the camera of each was about 3 MB (a MB is about 1000 times larger than a KB). For the web we need to use KB. Googled: KB and kB refer to kilobyte - a unit of information or computer storage equal to either 1,024 bytes (210) or 1,000 bytes (103), depending on context. A KB consists of about 1000 bits) MB refers to megabyte - a unit of information or computer storage equal to either 1,048,576 bytes (220) or 1,000,000 bytes (106), depending on context. A megabyte has approximately 1,000 (or 1,024 to be precise) kilobytes. Then there is GB, which is about 1000 MB big and we don't use it on the web. |
